Sanctuary Wood Turning

Welcome to my workshop in Roe Green, Sandon, where I create one of a kind pieces of woodturning on my lathe.

I’ve been woodturning for many years and have enjoyed selling my work at local village fairs. Now retired, I’m able to devote more time to creating new pieces and exploring the character and beauty of natural wood.

Crafted with care, built to last.

From fallen wood to something special

Where possible, I use locally sourced fallen wood, giving each piece a new lease of life. No two pieces of wood are quite the same, and I enjoy allowing the natural grain, shape and character of the timber to influence the finished piece.

Some woods, such as yew and spalted timber, have beautiful natural colour variations and markings. These are often left to speak for themselves, while simpler pieces may be enhanced with subtle colour or pyrography.

The result is a collection of individual pieces, each with its own character and story.

My work includes a range of both decorative and practical pieces, including:

  • Goblets

  • Bowls

  • Pots

  • Vases

  • Plates

  • Spinning tops

  • Wands
